SERVICE MANAGER (PIC) ABBEY VIEW SLIGO

We are currently recruiting a SERVICE MANAGER (PIC) to join our Team
on a **Apply on the website**hr per week permanent basis in our Abbey
View service based in Sligo.
Cheshire Ireland provides quality services to adults with physical,
sensory and neurological disabilities at a medium and high level of
need. We provide individualised supports to promote well-being,
independence and quality of life for all people who use our services.
We currently provide services to over **Apply on the website** people
in their own homes, in residential centres, in supported accommodation
and in respite facilities. Established in Shillelagh, Co. Wicklow in
**Apply on the website**, Cheshire Ireland are a Section **Apply on
the website** organisation funded by the HSE. We employ over **Apply
on the website** staff and operate in Dublin, Cork, Galway, Wicklow,
Limerick, Donegal, Kerry, Carlow, Waterford, Sligo and Mayo.
The Donegal centre aims to facilitate people to live as independently
as possible and with the maximum degree of choice as to how they live
their lives. People with disabilities live in their own apartments
within a small complex with support, as required, from Cheshire staff.
As a Service Manager/PIC, your role is to lead a team of staff who
ensure people using the service receive support to live in their own
home, to develop and hold valued social roles and a variety of
meaningful relationships within their communities.
The Service Manager will also be required to take on the role of PIC
(Person in Charge) for HIQA purposes
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE:
_Operational Management_
* Effectively manages the service through the appropriate use of
resources and in line with the organisational and regional team
objectives, and objectives/KPIs for the service as set out by the
Regional Manager.
* Development, implementation and management of the roster, informed
by operational needs, service needs and knowledge of the social model
of disability.
Leadership and Resource Management
* Provide clear and active leadership and direction to the
operational, nursing, senior support, general support and frontline
support teams ensuring SMART objectives are in place and progress is
reviewed on a regular basis.
Risk Management, Safeguarding and Compliance
* Responsible for taking on the role of PIC/PPIM (Person in
Charge/Person Participating in Management) in line with HIQA
requirements.
* Ensure the service is compliant with all relevant statutory
requirements including regulatory requirements, adult safeguarding,
Capacity Act, Health and Safety legislation, employment practices and
environmental protection legislation.
Relationship Management
* Create and develop good relationships with the people who use
Cheshire services, their families, advocates, employees, colleagues,
the public, the HSE and contacts and resources within the broader
disability sector.
Financial Management
* Monitor all expenditure within the service, working closely with
the Service Manager and Finance Department on all budgetary matters.
* Foster an awareness of the need for value for money and a sense of
accountability for budgets within the service. Develop and maintain
communication systems between services, external funders, families and
wider stakeholders.
Communications
* Responsible for setting the communication tone and standards in the
service.

Change Management and Continuous Improvement
* Responsible for developing a culture of continuous improvement
through ensuring the correct attitudes and processes are in place to
support the delivery of excellent standards and to drive a culture and
passion for service.
Training and Development
* Take responsibility for identifying your own training and
development needs and communicating them to the Regional Manager.
The successful candidate will have at least 3 years? previous
experience in a Management role within the disability, broad personal
social services or healthcare sector, a third level qualification
level 8 or higher or relevant professional qualification, evidence of
a Management Qualification e.g. Fetac level 6.
In addition, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate
excellent communication skills and attention to detail, the ability to
work autonomously and excellent strategic leadership and people
management skills.
The role will involve occasional travel to Cheshire sites and as such
the candidate will need to have a current driver?s licence, their
own vehicle and be willing to travel for work.
